Education matters, but what do you do if you are living out of your car?  What if you have to sleep at a shelter because you are homeless?  It can be very difficult to get a good education if you are constantly moving around.  Over the course of a year, over 3,171 children in Indianapolis experience homelessness. 65% of these children are under the age of 12.

Fortunately, there is an organization working to bring education to those who cannot come to school.  It’s called School on Wheels.  They work exclusively with homeless youth and parents in Indianapolis.

School on Wheels is striving to bring education to all children.  Circumstances can be hard, but that doesn’t mean kids shouldn’t get an education.  If they attend tutored classes at one of the homeless shelters, they can stay on track.
