NYCHA’s Atefeh Riazi founded CIOs Without Borders after realizing through her travels, that medical benefits and services in some countries are extremely limited. Riazi is currently the Executive Director of CIOs Without Borders, but she also works for the New York City Housing Authority as its CIO. CIOs Without Borders recognizes that several ailments exist in the world today that are easily preventable so long as patients have access to basic technology and medical information. The non-profit strives to improve the world for underserved communities by providing them access to the resources that can provide them with the most valuable asset: health.
