Sponsors for Educational Opportunity (SEO) celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2013, commemorating the occasion by raising more than $6 million to bolster their already impressive education programs. The organization is committed to mentoring underserved students who desire a college education, and has been instrumental in cultivating a strong network of scholars, educators, sponsors, and successful college graduates.
SEO was formed as a way to guide low-income young people down a path that helps them achieve the most academic and professional success possible. Through mentorship, out-of-the-classroom programs, and financial support, SEO has helped countless students earn a college education.
2014 already looks like a very promising year for the organization, which recently named businessman and education advocate Henry Kravis as its new chairman. With more financial support than ever, a fortified dedication to bettering its programs, and strong leadership, SEO will continue to thrive as one of the most effective mentorship organizations in the country.
