Remember the days when you had endless hours to lie in the grass and read a great book? Maybe not. Want to start now? Visit the public library. There you can gain access to thousands of wonderful books just waiting for you to pick them up.
Children who have access to books early on are much more prepared to begin school and jump into education. They tend to receive better grades and, because they are at grade level or higher, they don’t act out in class as much.
Kids don’t like reading? Tempt them to the library with promises they can check out a book and a DVD or CD to listen to. Yes, all of those things are available for check out. Even comic books are an option.
Kids who love to read become better readers and writers. Their vocabulary skills are higher, and they gain confidence as well. Get to the library today!
